(Rates will vary depending on accommodation selected, which ranges from camping in a tent to overnight accommodation in chalets. Bookings for this extremely popular wilderness national park open 12 months in advance, so finding accommodation in the park is always a challenge. Fortunately there is the option to stay outside the park if accommodation is impossible to find for certain dates.)

The Kgalagadi Transfronteir Park is a unique wilderness park bordering on Namibia and Botswana in the ancient Kalahari desert. It is one of the most beautiful parks in the world, and because of its remote location also one of the most demanding to visit. Our expedition involves 3 days of travel to and from the park, and 6 days in the park itself.

Famous for its many prides of black-maned lions, cheetahs and leopards, the park is a photographers paradise. Add to that herds of wildebeest, gemsbok, springbok and other antelope, and numerous bird species, some unique to the park, and one can understand why some travellers return to the park year after year. It is indeed a magical place to explore.

Our private tour in one of our Toyota Landcruisers will include overnighting at the famous Kalahari Trails meerkat sanctuary, where we will get up close and personal with some of the cutest meerkats on earth. Then it's on to Twee Rivieren camp, where we will probably spend much of our stay, with drives up to Mata Mata and Nossob if possible...The dry riverbeds which we will traverse are home to the famous lions, cheetahs and leopards who call the Kgalagadi home, so make sure to have your camera gear at the ready.

After 6 days exploring this amazing park, we will head back to Cape Town, overnighting at Nieuwoudville, where we will visit and photograph the largest Quiver Tree Forest in Africa...Truly an other-worldly experience...

Price includes: Transport in 4x4, entry fees to park, accommodation in tented camp or chalets, all meals and snacks, bottled water.

This Photo Expedition is ideal for photographers wanting to shoot in the famous Sossusvlei and Namib regions of Namibia under the guidance of a photographer who has shot extensively in Namibia. While of course it will suit photographers keen to capture the natural beauty of these truly dramatic landscapes, Derek Antonio Serra has built a solid reputation for creating memorable fashion images shot in these same landscapes. So an option exists to book a local model to accompany us on this expedition to add a human element to already stunning locations.

A personalised itinerary can include visits to Kolmanskop, the famous ghost town in the desert, Dead Vlei at Sossusvlei with its massive red dunes and petrified trees, the beautiful Namibrand, and shooting wild horses in the wide open spaces of the Namib.

Our trip to Namibia will take us through the Northern Cape province of South Africa, with two days there, six days in Namibia, and two days back. Life-long memories and incredible images are guaranteed...

A local model or tribesman/woman can be booked to accompany us on our trip from an additional R1000/shooting day upon request.
